I invite you to take your Bibles and turn to Romans 8:35. One of the greatest chapters in all the word of God, the riches of Romans is found in chapter 8. And I want to continue a message that will be along the line with the messages of "Look and Live." And I want to speak today on "Once Saved Always Safe." And I want to begin here in Romans 8 and we will be going to several different parts of the word of God. The apostle Paul is asking a question, and then he makes an affirmation. Here is the question. Now I want to pose a question, is there anything better than knowing that Jesus is in your heart, you have been born again...

OPEN: While visiting the Oregon Caves National Monument, a couple had hoped to get some rock samples -until they heard the following introduction by a cave tour guide: ''I hope you enjoy our trek through the caves. I must ask you not to destroy or take any of the rock formations. Actu-ally, we have had very little trouble with this. I don't know if it's because of our visitor's great love for nature, their desire for the preservation of the caves, or their respect for the $500 fine.'' On a sight-seeing trip on Florida's west coast, another couple were visiting an old mansion. In the exquisitely furnished master bedroom, we...

As you're turning to Ephesians chapter 1, we are continuing our study on the Bible doctrine of what many refer to as ''once saved, always saved,'' or ''Once in grace, always in grace. I'm referring to the: The Doctrine of the Eternal Security of the Believer. It's wonderful to be saved! Do you know what's better than being saved? It's being saved and knowing that you're saved. And even better than that is being saved and knowing that you're saved and knowing that you can never, ever, ever be a lost soul again! Now somebody says, ''Suppose a person joins the church who claimed to be saved, who for several years was very active: sang in the...

How many in here like garage sales, let me see your hands. You like garage sales? Where's my wife? She's got her hand up (laughter). She loves garage sales. How many people in here don't care for garage sales, anybody? A bunch of guys, hands up. Wives like garage sales. Guys don't necessarily like garage sales. But, you know, sometimes garage sales can really pay off, not necessarily for the person having the garage sale, because you know how a garage sale works. You buy this stuff that costs thousands and thousands of dollars and you sell it for pennies, you know. It's like Debbie would always say, ''Look what I got for this couch...

We have just had a wonderful time celebrating Christmas, a season where we turn our hearts and minds to the amazing story of Jesus Christ and His miraculous birth. It was in that amazing event that the God of this vast universe clothed Himself in human flesh. That is good news that brings to all of us a great joy because that babe in the manger was born to be the Savior for the world. That is not the end of the story, just the beginning. That babe grew to be a man who lived a life unparalleled by any other. He lived a life of absolute perfection and was littered by authoritative teaching, teaching that no one had ever heard before. His...

After entering a New York City subway station in the first week of 2007, 19-year-old film student Cameron Hollopeter suffered a seizure while waiting for a train. As his body convulsed out of control, the young man stumbled down the platform and fell onto one of the tracks-directly in the path of an inbound train. Fortunately, a 50-year-old construction worker named Wesley Autrey noticed his distress. Standing on the platform with his two young daughters, Autrey realized that nobody else in the station was going to help. According to later interviews, he decided: ''I'm the only one to do it.'' Placing himself in great danger, Autrey jumped...

Would you open your Bibles this morning to the Gospel of Luke, chapter 22...I'm going to read verses 31-34. The setting of these verses is, as you know, the Lord eating the Passover Supper with His disciples as He institutes the Lord's Supper. It's a very critical and strategic time both for our Lord and for His disciples. Strange things are happening. Some strange things are being said. It is a night filled with tenseness and mystery and in the midst of this situation comes the startling prophecy of the Lord Jesus concerning Simon Peter. Verses 31-34: ''And the Lord said, 'Simon, Simon, behold Satan hath desired to have...

This morning we begin a new series ''This We believe'' What you believe is very important Eternal Life, Sin, Jesus is very important ''What Dreams May Come'' Reincarnation God Is up there shouting at us we don't listen George Gallup ''Not that Americans are not religious, we decided to pick and chose what we believe concepts that are not based upon God's Word Of God. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. John 10:28 Is it possible for someone who knows Christ as Saviour to do something so terrible that God destroys his ''spiritual adoption papers''? Can a person accept...

We are studying today about how to grow strong. You know, it is one thing to come to Christ, but then the Bible says that we are to grow in the Christian life. We are so glad to have David Bagwell and the group from First Baptist Church, Liberal with us. David is one that I have watched grow since he was a little child, not just grow up physically into a man, but I have seen him grow spiritually, and he did a wonderful job here in our church as our interm youth pastor, and now he is just continuing to grow as he reaches out, and is reaching so many youth there in Liberal, KS through the First Baptist Church. We are very proud of you...

1. There was a man who lived in a small southern town, and after twenty years of shaving himself every morning, he decided he had had enough. He told his wife he wanted to go down to the local barber, just for once, and get shaved himself. 2. When he put on his hat and coat, went to the barbershop, which was owned by the pastor of the Baptist church, the barber's wife, whose name was Grace, was working, so she is the one that shaved him. 3. After she shaved him she said, ''That will be $20.'' Well, he thought the price was extremely high, but since she was the pastor's wife he paid the bill and went to work. 4. The next...

Well, tonight for our Bible study let's turn to Ephesians 1. If you have your Bible, if you'll get that out and turn to Ephesians 1. I want to begin in verse 13. I want to speak tonight on "Signed, Sealed, and Delivered." The two messages that I've brought recently on Sunday morning regarding "The Greatest Peace on Earth," the message last Sunday night out of I John, and this message will be in a series of messages, a tape series on "The Greatest Peace on This Earth." That's the peace of knowing that you have salvation, and you can never lose it. One of the reasons is because salvation is a transaction. It's a divine...

"We have an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of Him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will, (12) that we should be to the praise of his glory who first trusted in Christ." I believe, because of these reasons, when a man is genuinely born again, he can never, ever again become lost. If he can. then God's plan of pre- destination is interrupted, His purpose is hindered and His praise is removed. To say a man who has been saved by the blood of Christ can be lost again is to question the integrity of God, it is to call God an inept God, it is to call Him a liar and it is to say that the blood of Christ is...

The title of the lesson today is Assurance. We're going to look at assurance for the next two or three Sundays. One of the great unshakable truths in these uncertain times is having the assurance of your salvation. As I've said many times, there is only one thing better than knowing you're saved, knowing that you've been washed in the blood, knowing your sins are forgiven, knowing they've been cast into the depths of the sea, knowing God has put them behind his back, knowing that God remembers your sin now more, knowing that you are a child of God. There's only one thing better. That is knowing that you were...

When you hear that somebody in the church has fallen into sin ... what is your first thought? What were they thinking? How could they let that happen? What's the rest of the story? What will that mean for their family? How will God deal with them? How could they be so careless.I'm glad I'm not in their shoes. How they could show their face at worship? Those may be your first thought .. but what about your first reaction? Making a few phone calls: Have you heard what so-and-so did?Perhaps an email: Have you heard the latest about so-and-so?Are you a part of the Baptist Grapevine? Which by the way .. I believe is faster than the...

Alright, today's lesson is "True Salvation." Lesson six in the "Basic Bible Truths That Undergird Our Faith." Now, the passage on your outline from Acts 2 begins in verse 37. "Now when they heard this." What was it they heard? They heard the preaching from Peter about Jesus Christ and who He was, the simple story of the cross and how God sent Jesus and Jesus was God's Son and He gave His life on the cross, and that all of us through our sin made it necessary for Christ to come and die for us. Peter comes in that message and he says that God has made this same Jesus whom you have crucified both Lord and Christ. Now you...
