God's Plan for Prosperity
by Adrian Rogers
Take your bibles, and turn to proverbs, chapter 28. Let's look in verse 13. We're preaching through the book of proverbs, under the general heading of ''god's way to health, wealth, and wisdom''. Today, I wanna speak to you on this subject: ''God's plan for prosperity''. Are you interested in being prosperous? I hope you are. God is interested in your being prosperous. Did you know that the bible says that god takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servants? That god is pleased when you're prosperous? God takes pleasure in the prosperity of his servants. As a matter of fact, one of the most unqualified promises in all of the bible is found in...
The Real Prosperity Message (3 of 23)
by Jim Perdue
I'm preaching through Psalm 119 on Sunday evenings in a series entitled Life By The Book. The focus of Psalm 119 is the Word of God. That's right, this is a chapter in the Bible that is all about the Bible. And so, this sermon series focuses on how the Word of God directs our lives. It shows us how to live Life By The Book. This evening, we come to the second stanza in Psalm 119, represented by the second letter in the Hebrew alphabet beth. Once again, the focus on this section is the precious, sacred, perfect Word of God. And from this text, we see what it really means to prosper as believers. The subject for the sermon...
The Promise of God's Prosperity (1 of 5)
by Stan Coffey
After the death of Moses, God placed His hand upon Joshua and called him to lead the people across the Jordan River into the land that He had promised to give them. In God's initial instructions in the first chapter of Joshua, the Lord makes clear His desire to prosper Joshua and the people of Israel. In Joshua 1:7 we read, "...that thou mayest prosper whithersoever thou goest." We read again in the latter part of verse 8, "...for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous." What God said to Joshua, God also is saying to you and to me today. In I Corinthians 10:11, the Bible says that all these things happen to them as examples...
The Key to Prosperity
by J. Gerald Harris
Almost everyone wants to experience success and prosperity in life. However, the success and prosperity offered by this world is exceedingly temporary. The transitory nature of success was poignantly illustrated recently in some events that transpired over at the University of Georgia. Of course, we all know that the University of Georgia football team ended the season ranked number three in the nation. They won the SEC conference title. They won a stirring victory in the Sugar Bowl. For their success on the gridiron they won championship rings. You would have thought that any athlete would have been proud to be a part of...
How Does a Believer Really Prosper (1 of 2)
by Fred Lowery
Do we have anybody in this room who would like to be prosperous? Would enjoy prosperity- that's not a trick question? To prosper means to achieve economic success; to flourish; to thrive; to be successful. Is it not true that we all want that. Don't so spiritual. We all want that even though at times, our motives might not be pure and our definition of success may be flawed. But here's the good news that may surprise you this morning. God says that he wants His people to have prosperity. Now let me read Psalm 35:27. Ps 35:27 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who favor my vindication; and let them say continually, ''The LORD be...
A Man and His Money
by James Merritt
As with salvation and forgiveness there is nothing complex about biblical giving. The only thing that is complex about giving is trying to understand why more believers aren't doing it. Where biblical giving is concerned there should be expectations on both sides. According to today's text God expects His people to be faithful in giving and we should expect Him to being faithful in blessing us. Biblical giving takes at least two forms. There are both tithes and offerings. The tithe is 10% of our income. Any offering should be above that tithe. For instance, when we give to one of our missions offerings that offering should be above the...
Plans to Prosper
by Jerry Branch
Keywords: vision; prosper; plans; life; Jesus; Know Jesus; Grow in Jesus; Show Jesus If you recall, last week I shared with you that in Jeremiah 29:11-14, God encourages us as He reminds us that He has given us a plan...He didn't put us on 'auto-pilot' and leave us to find our own way... He's given us a plan to prosper us, a plan to give a hope. Then too, as I shared with you, as we align ourselves in His plan, using the football analogy, as we get out of the huddle and onto the playing field, then we will be a people who KNOW Jesus, Grow In Jesus, and Show Jesus through worship, prayer, service and Love. But here's one thing...
Live Long and Prosper (1 of 7)
by Roger Thomas
''Live Long and Prosper!'' All the Trekkies here today know those words. I don't quite have the dexterity to give the proper hand signal. Those words became the familiar greeting of Mr. Spock, the science officer of the popular Star Trek TV series. Leonard Nimoy played that role in the original version seen on NBC in the late sixties and on reruns ever since. We learned from Star Trek that this was the customary Vulcan greeting on the planet from which Spock came. ''Live Long and Prosper'' were also the character's dying words in the movie Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan (1982). Those words provide a good summary for what most...
Requirements for Real Prosperity
by Wayne Hinson
Intro: Shortly after the end of World War II, a thing called prosperity began to infiltrate the rank and file of the church. History and God's Word will prove that no nation or people has ever survived the ungodliness that is produced from prosperity. No nation or people have remained close to God during times of prosperity. The simple truth is that mankind cannot handle long term prosperity. From this influx of prosperity in the church world, we saw the rise of one unBiblical doctrine called ''Kingdom Theology'', which erroneously teaches that God wants all His children to be prosperous in this present world. Scores of so-called...
Seeking Prosperity (15 of 52)
by Christopher Harbin
Prosperity is something we hear talked about by politicians, economists, business professionals, and preachers. We see books and articles revealing secretes to success, all of which are geared to increase our incomes and further the cause of amassing more wealth. We are inundated with messages about prosperity. We are encouraged to believe that the most important question we face has to do with income or wealth. It is promoted as the ''bottom line'' in all business concerns. It is touted as the main focus for government policies. It is at the heart of the ''American Dream'' and the focus of so many books and the sermons...
God's Promise For Prosperity (2 of 15)
by Stan Coffey
Well, this morning we want to continue our series that was begun last week about marching into tomorrow and marching into victory. We're talking about a journey in faith and if you'll look in your Bible at Joshua chapter 1, we're going to read from Joshua 1. Today we're going to talk about God's promise for prosperity. God's promise for prosperity. Journey in freedom. The text verse for this series is out of Joshua 3 where the Lord said, "Sanctify yourselves for the Lord will do amazing things among you." We believe that God has amazing things in the future for San Jacinto Baptist Church. Amen! That's what we're talking about...
Is the Prosperity Gospel the True Gospel? (4 of 6)
by Jeff Schreve
Let's pray together. Lord, we thank You for Your precious blood. We thank You for an empty tomb. We thank You that You are the God who paid for all of our sins on the cross. Lord, we thank You that we can be washed white as snow by the precious blood of the Lamb. We thank You that You are God who's with us, who never leaves us, never forsakes us, a God who dries every tear, a God who has so much in store for those who love You and walk with You. Lord, Your Word says, "What eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor has even entered into the heart of man all that God has prepared for those who love Him." And we thank You and praise...
