"Some time later, Jesus went up to Jerusalem for a feast of the Jews. Now there is in Jerusalem near the Sheep Gate a pool, which in Aramaic is called Bethesda and which is surrounded by five covered colonnades. Here a great number of disabled people used to lie--the blind, the lame, the paralyzed. One who was there had been an invalid for thirty-eight years. When Jesus saw him lying there and learned that he had been in this condition for a long time, he asked him, ‘Do you want to get well?’ ‘Sir,’ the invalid replied, ‘I have no one to help me into the pool when the water is stirred. While I am trying to get in, someone else goes...

If you will, take your Bibles and turn to Acts Chapter 3. This morning I want to continue on in the Book of Acts. We have come now to chapter 3 and I want to draw your attention to verses 1-10 where we see a miracle, a miracle of healing done in the name of Jesus. Follow along with me if you will, silently, as I read aloud. ''One day Peter and John were going up to the temple at the time of prayer at 3 in the afternoon. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. When he saw Peter and John about to enter he asked...

INTRODUCTION: - One of the greatest and most needed messages in the world today is the good news of the cross. It is the only message of any real significance. At the core of the message of the cross is the message of God's perfect healing for us today because of Jesus death on the cross. Today we will look at Isaiah 53 to see wore closely the truth concerning our perfect healing. I. THREE REASONS THE HEALING POWER OF THE CROSS IS PERFECT 1. It is Eternal/Final - vs. 4- Past tense - Central Scripture - Isaiah 53:4 - Final and forever - ''stricken, smitten and afflicted'', the eternal weight of God's wrath was...

In July 1989 Janet Culver set out on a cruse from Bermuda on a perfect sailing day with Nick the man she hoped to marry. Four days later their 37 foot sail boat foundered, leaving them to drift helpless in a tiny dinghy. After 10 days, often battling 16-foot waves, hunger, thirst and becoming delirious Nick drowned himself - but Janet would not give up. For the next four days she battled on to stay alive. Her sores were getting real bad, they were all open and swollen and very painful. When she left she had been 130 pounds but now she was a puny, bony creature just laying in the bottom of the raft. When she was finally rescued by a passing...

We continue our series entitled God Talk: A Conversation through the Psalms. This is the third part of our series as we have been examining selected Psalms that have been recorded and persevered for us by God. Today, we investigate a prayer of Israel's famous King David. It is a prayer for healing. As we have noted in our study in both Psalm 1 and Psalm 73, the Psalms are poetry often set to music in ancient times. These poems are written for your happiness. They are written for your joy. If you are in Christ, God is for you. If you are outside of Christ, God is against you. Two small prepositions, in and outside, yet the...

Introduction: In order for healing to take place we must start with two things. First, what is broken and second what is the source that we should go to for healing. "There is a small, weasel-like animal called the ichneumon. It can overcome and destroy a venomous snake of over a yard long. It is said that the ichneumon attacks a snake only when it is near a certain plant whose leaves contain an antidote for snake bite. When bitten, the little creature immediately retreats to the life-saving plant and nibbles its leaves. It is restored and ready to renew the attack. Each time it is bitten, it goes to the plant and then returns to fight...

HEALING IN OLD TESTAMENT There is much opinion today about Divine Healing. Let us go directly to the Word to see what God has to say. The Bible teaches divine healing. It is a reality. It is a glorious fact. And anyone who loves God and loves the Bible and has studied His Word will admit that the Bible teaches divine healing. There is healing of the body, healing of the soul and healing of the spirit. Man is a tri-partite, or three-part being. We are going to see what the Word has to say about healing. The Healing of Miriam We know the Bible teaches divine healing from Numbers 12:13. ''Moses cried unto the Lord, Heal her now...

Kangaroo Care is defined as holding your infant with skin to skin contact. According to a new study published in Pediatrics, low birth weight babies benefit from skin to skin contact. Compared to infants in incubators, newborns in ''kangaroo mother care'' had less severe infections, spent fewer days in the hospital, and had better head circumferences (a sign of better growth rate). The system, which involves placing a diaper-clad preemie upright on his mom's bare chest-tummy to tummy, in between her breasts, inside her clothing; her body warmth helps stabilize the baby's temperature and also allows for easier breastfeeding, was...

Let us turn now to Isaiah, the 53rd chapter. Today we are taking up Christ, Our Healer, and the passage is found in verse 5. "By His stripes we are healed." Those six words you will want to keep before you. Also you will want to keep in mind Exodus 15, "I am the Lord that healeth thee." And Psalm 103 "Who forgiveth all thine iniquities and who healeth all thy diseases." Psalm 107, "The Lord is good and His mercy endureth forever." It is good to meditate on these passages referring to divine healing. I wonder if Isaiah 53 is not the most outstanding passage in the Old Testament when it comes to the Lord Jesus Christ...

Well for the last several weeks we've been in a series on the names of God. We've entitled this series ''What is His Name?'' finding strength and deliverance through the powerful names of God. And today we want to finish up that series and we want to talk about the awesome wonderful name Jehovah Rapha, Yahweh-Rapha, the God the Lord who heals. Now when we think about healing I believe most of us have the thought in our mind, ''Healing, okay that is a physical thing. The Lord who heals, well He's going to heal me or I hope He heals me of my cancer of my arthritis of my sickness of my disease.'' A physical healing; that's kind...
