SERMONS ON GOD'S WRATH
Our sermon ideas on God's Wrath will help you preach a powerful message. Whether this is a popular topic or not is not what matters. We can learn from Paul where he said in Acts 20:27 (ESV) "for I did not shrink from declaring to you the whole counsel of God." Paul did not hold back and neither should we. Without a doubt, let's preach with grace and truth, but let's present the whole counsel of God to our church. Prepare your messages on God's Wrath with sermon outlines or an entire sermon series.
The Wrath of God (3 of 47)
by Chris Walls
Paul up unto this point has developed the theme of the righteousness, which comes from God. This is a theme that Paul later will develop at length in chapters 3:21-5:21. Starting here in verse 18 of chapter one through verse 20 of chapter three, Paul is presents the evidence of mans sinfulness, to help underscore how desperately man needs God's righteousness. He does this in three sections. The section we have before us today is God's case against the irreligious, immoral pagan. Next week we will look at God's case against the religious, outwardly moral person. Paul concludes by showing that all men...
Escape From God's Wrath! (8 of 9)
by Dennis Marquardt
INTRO:One of the subjects not preached on much any more is God's Wrath, or the eternal reality of Hell. The reality of Hell is scoffed at today and many unbelievers mock Christ¬ians for talking about God's wrath and Hell. We are accused of being negative and preying on fear in the hopes of making followers. However, Christians do believe the Scriptures about Hell! Yet, most of our preaching and teaching centers not on the horribleness of Hell but on how to escape it! Therefore we are positive oriented. God's wrath exists only on those who refuse the grace of God and ignore the generous way out that Jesus Christ made...
The End of Wrath (5 of 10)
by Eddie Snipes
Let's take a moment to review the difference between forgiveness and redemption. Forgiveness is to pardon someone from the penalty of breaking the law, but redemption is the payment of someone's debt. For example, if a poor man steals to get money for his needs or wants, if he's caught, there are two areas of consequences. For breaking the law, there is a penalty. He could get jail time and have to serve as a prisoner for years. The second consequence is restitution. Going to jail does not eliminate the debt he owes to the one he robbed. Once out of jail, he still owes restitution, even if his time was served. On the cross...
The Grace of Wrath (4 of 7)
by Jeff Schreve
The year was 1976. I was getting ready to graduate from 8th grade to go into high school. I know I don't look that old, but anyway it was only a couple more weeks of school. And we had a field trip from my junior high school to the high school. Now I was going from Blythe Junior High to Cy-Fair Senior High. Cy-Fair Senior High was huge compared to my junior high school, and it was quite a distance away. I think it probably took us about 20 minutes to get there. And we went on the bus. And there was a good-size group of us. And me and some of my buddies, we had a plan. We said, "Now listen. Cy-Fair's a big school. And this is a...

Scott Peck…please God let there be a God…When you see the news When...
Romans 8:28 of the Old Testament
by Ken Trivette
One of the most familiar verses in the N.T. is Romans 8:28: "And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to His purpose." 2. Romans 8:28 assures that God has a purpose for our life and that all things have a purpose in our life. Romans 8:28 has many times comforted, calmed, and challenged our heart. 3. The O.T. equivalent to Romans 8:28 is found in Genesis 50:20. 4. Background: The Funeral of Joseph's Father The Fear of Joseph's Family 5. What was Joseph's answer to his brother's fears? One of the most thrilling truths we find in the Bible. 1. THE PROBLEMS...
Grace Revealed in Old Testament (3 of 4)
by Lenny Ports
This story takes place in the book of Exodus which is the book written of the Exodus of the children of Israel out of Egyptian bondage, delivered through the Red Sea, and on their way to the Promised Land."Let me give you the background of this story. They have come through the Red Sea, a glorious victory over their enemies. On the way to the Promised Land, they must walk through the wilderness. So the people were thirsty and when they came upon the waters of Marah but they were bitter. 23 "Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore, the name of it was...
The Black Velvet Backdrop (4 of 34)
by Keith Krell
A young man walked into a jewelry store to shop for an engagement ring. Standing nervously at the counter, he peered through the glass top at a tray of beautiful gems. The salesman brought out some of his finer diamonds and held each precious jewel up to the light. The diamonds were quality stones, but the young man wasn't impressed. None of them caught his eye. Realizing he needed a new approach, the salesman pulled a black velvet pad out of the drawer and placed it on the counter. Using his tweezers, he delicately picked up one of his choicest stones and laid it on the black backdrop. As he did so, all the light in the...
Will The Heathen Be Lost? (1 of 20)
by Stan Coffey
salvation and also the message of the walk of the spirit for the Christian and I tell you we are rich as Christians when we look into the book of Romans and find the truth that God has for us. This morning my subject is this - Will the heathen be lost? What about those who have never heard the name of Jesus Christ? What will God do with the person who has never heard the gospel story? You know that is a perplexing question. That is a question that people have considered down through the centuries and that is a question that the philosophers have tried to deal with and young people go off to college and they study...
The Kingdom of Fools
by Terry J. Hallock
In our Scripture for this morning Paul describes a unique kingdom that I choose to call ''The Kingdom of Fools''. Its citizens would be highly offended by such a description for they prefer to think of themselves as the wisest of the wise. Yet, if you don't mind, I'll continue to call it the ''Kingdom of Fools'' because that is how the....
Beating the Church-Going Blues through Evangelism (5 of 5)
by Steve Jones
INTRODUCTION: It's awful when you do not know something is happening! At the end of their first date, a young man takes the young lady back to her house and they are standing on the front porch! Feeling the night went well, with an air of confidence, he leans with his hand against the wall and smiling, he says to her, "So, how 'bout a good night kiss?" Embarrassed, she replies, "Oh, I couldn't do that. My parents will see us!" "Oh come on! Who's gonna see us at this hour?" "No, please. I would just die of embarrassment if someone saw us." "Oh come on, there's nobody around, they're all sleeping!" "No way. It's...
God's Answer to Environmentalism
by Daniel Rodgers
TEXT: Romans 1:18-23, "For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; [19] Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. [20] For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse: [21] Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart...
Overcoming With The Incorruptible God (8 of 12)
by Stan Coffey
I want you to turn to Romans Chapter 1 and a verse that I dearly love and I've written this verse in many people's Bible as a reference when people have asked me to sign their Bible. Believe it or not when I do revivals and conferences many times little boys and girls will come up and say, "Brother Stan will you sign my Bible?" I'm happy to sign their Bible and put in there Romans 1:16, a wonderful verse and I want us to begin reading in that verse, Verse 16, and read on through Verse 23. I want to speak today on this subject, "The Incorruptible God". The incorruptible God and talk about the victory we have and why it's possible to...
Worship God, Not Idols
by Jonathan McLeod
For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became...
Can Man Live Without God? - Part I (2 of 4)
by Joe Alain
Can man live without God? Yes, if you believe what the atheists say. According to the American Atheists, "An Atheist loves himself and his fellowman instead of a god. An Atheist accepts that heaven is something for which we should work now - here on earth - for all men together to enjoy. An Atheist accepts that he can get no help through prayer, but that he must find in himself the inner conviction and strength to meet life, to grapple with it, to subdue it and to enjoy it. An Atheist accepts that only in a knowledge of himself and a knowledge of his fellow man can he find the understanding that will help to a life of fulfillment....
What About Those Who Have Never Heard (5 of 7)
by Jeff Schreve
George was playing golf with a doctor friend of his. And he said to him, "Hey, doc. I think my wife is starting to lose her hearing." And he said, "Really?" He said, "Yeah, but, you know, she doesn't want to go to the doctor. She doesn't want to get checked out. And I really don't know what to do about it." He said, "Well, why don't you just test her hearing without her knowing about it." He said, "Well, how do you think I should do that?" He said, "Well, just come up behind her sometime when she can't see you and do a little test to see if she can hear you. Say something in a hushed tone to see if she can hear. And you can just kind of gauge it...
Rebellion And Apostacy (2 of 19)
by Daniel Rodgers
INTRODUCTION: In our lesson last week, we looked at Paul's introduction to the book of Romans. Tonight, we will consider his comments concerning man's rebellion against God and his rejection of truth. Let me give you our outline: I. MAN'S AWARENESS OF GOD (VV. 18-20) A. His Wrath Revealed (vv. 18, 19) 1. In the year 1859, one of the biggest hoaxes or spoofs ever perpetrated upon the human race was the publication of Charles Darwin's, Origin of Species, a book that introduced the idea that man evolved from lower life forms into what he is today. I might add; if we look at what man has become today, we...
Bad Deal (1 of 8)
by James Merritt
I love to read. I have since I was old enough to remember anything. Believe it or not, I taught myself to read when I was going on 4 years old. Do you know how I did it? We were moving to Florida and I began to literally read billboards as we would pass by them on the highway. It really astounded my mother and my dad and by the time I got to the 1st grade I was already reading at a 4th grade level. 2. I also love to go to movies. I think one of the reasons why is if you think about it, movies and books are very closely related and that is why a lot books are turned into movies. That is also why a lot of people would rather go see a movie...
