Many people argue that James contradicts Paul on the subject of justifcation. Paul writes, “We hold that one is justified by faith apart from works of the law” (Rom. 3:28). James writes, “A person is justified by works and not by faith alone” (James 2:24). In the series “Faith and Works,” we’ll examine Romans 3:27-4:5 and James 2:14-26, and we’ll learn that what Paul and James wrote concerning justification was complementary, not contradictory.
