Hebrews 11:11-12
INTRODUCTION
Lisa asked me last week if we were going to start a new sermon series. I told her no but I never realized how true it is - that moms are truly instruments of God.
Moms know our pain and are quick to act to bring healing
Moms see things we cannot see
Moms know what we are thinking or they at least know how to get it out of us
Moms don't look at outward appearances, they see the heart
Moms believe in us and see our potential and speak to it
Moms are rescuers
Moms carry our burdens
Moms rejoice with us
Moms cry with us
Moms celebrate with us
Moms desire to see unity in their families
Like the video said, the world can really see God's heart though moms. Some great examples of godly moms in scripture include:
A GODLY MOM IS A WOMAN OF FAITH: Sarah - Abraham was her husband and he was called the father of many nations and our father in the faith, but it would have been impossible without Sarah! Hebrews 11:11 By faith Sarah herself also received strength to conceive seed, and she bore a child when she was past the age, because she judged Him faithful who had promised. 12 Therefore from one man, and him as good as dead, were born as many as the stars of the sky in multitude--innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore. Sarah was a woman of faith. She believed God just like her husband did. When Sarah was placed in a situation that was impossible, she rose up with faith to believe that God could do the impossible. Even though she was 90, she too knew that God would be faithful to the promise He had made to them. What impossible situation are you facing? Did the doctors give you a bad report? Has your situation gotten from bad to worse? It is time to judge God faithful, that He will fulfill what He has promised in His word.
