Matthew 24:15-39
Alright, if you'll look we're studying from Matthew 24 today which is the greatest passage in the Bible from Jesus himself on prophecy. Now the book Desecration is about the first 27 days of the second half of the great tribulation. The church has been gone from the earth for 3 1/2 years. The Antichrist has now been killed and he has miraculously recovered and risen from the dead. Now he has claimed to be God and people are worshiping him and the image that has been set up in Jerusalem. He now has come to Jerusalem to claim his place and to make his claim as the God of all Gods. Now, the name "Desecration" has to do with the passage we are going to study today. Here's a quote from the book. Now this is Tsion Ben-Judah talking and he's talking to those who are believers during the tribulation time. Those who have been saved during the tribulation time and he is giving them his interpretation of what's going on during this time. He's watching Nicolae Carpathia who has claimed to be God. So he's addressing them and he says:
"TO MY DEAR TRIBULATION SAINTS, BELIEVERS IN JESUS THE
CHRIST, THE MESSIAH AND OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, AND TO THE
CURIOUS, THE UNDECIDED, AND THE ENEMIES OF OUR FAITH:
"It has now become clear that Nicolae Carpathia, the one who calls himself the ruler of this world and who I have identified (with the authority of the Holy Scriptures) as Antichrist, along with his False Prophet Leon Fortunato (upon whom has been bestowed the audacious title of the Most High Reverend Father of Carpathianism), has scheduled what the Bible calls the desecration of the temple." Now we'll study this from several passages and the passage this morning is what Jesus had to say about this act of the desecration of the temple.
