The judge frowned at the tired robber and said, ''then you admit breaking into the same store on three successive nights?'' ''Yes, your honor.''
''And why was that?'' ''Because my wife wanted a dress.''
The judge check with his records, ''But it says here you broke in three nights in a row!''

Introduction:

There are so many rewards for living life God's way as we saw from last week's sermon. Today we focus in on some life changing principles that will continue to help us in this area of living life successfully! The person who is in God's will is a success in God's sight, and in view of eternity! With that in mind, let us study more in the life of King Solomon, as he reveals to us what true wisdom is all about!

Body:

20 The poor is hated even of his own neighbour: but the rich hath many friends.

This sad-but-true picture of human nature is not given approvingly, but only as a fact.

That seems to be becoming more and more true. I doubt if a poor rail-splitter like Lincoln could run for the presidency in our day. A candidate has to be rich.

The poor and needy are looked down upon with distain, and disgust, which is a sin. Many do not want to even be around a person who is poor, or listen to their cry for help. Even his own next-door neighbor has a way of shunning the poor person. But listen to the words of the Lord in Psalms,

Psalm 41:1

41 Blessed is he that considereth the poor: the LORD will deliver him in time of trouble.

The word for ''Blessed'' here means, ''happy.'' The one who helps the poor will be happy, and also enjoy the deliverance of the Lord in times of calamity and trouble! God takes care of the poor, and of those who lend a helping hand to the poor!
