And let's jump right in-Acts 13, first three verses: [1] In the church at Antioch there were prophets and teachers: Barnabas, Simeon called Niger, Lucius of Cyrene, Manaen (who had been brought up with Herod the tetrarch) and Saul. By the way, this is an incredible diversity of people! You've got Simeon called ''Niger,'' which means ''black,'' so he was almost definitely an African man. You've got this guy Manaen who used to be connected with King Herod-remember the Herod we talked about last week-who was arresting and killing Christians. And you've got Saul, the former Pharisee who used to kill Christians. And now these guys are buddies! They're working together on a leadership team in the church! And that's the power of the gospel.
And since we're on the topic, let me share this with you: just this last week there was a conflict between two of the Rwandan leaders who serve on the Cyimbili plantation. And there were some accusations and some deep hurt that was forming. And this is the miracle of technology-one of these guys was on Facebook last week, and he was chatting on Facebook with one of the Chapel folks who has served in Rwanda. And he was sharing this conflict. And right at that moment, the guy he was conflicted with came walking into the room. And he told this Chapel woman-hey-this guy is here. And she wrote to him: here's what you need to do: Sit down with him. Talk to him face to face. Listen to him. Pray together. And forgive each other. And so the computer went silent for a while. And then in about 15 minutes he came back on. And he said, ''I have never experienced this before. Where you can be so angry with someone, and the relationship seems so over. And then to become friends again. This is amazing.'' And you know, it just reminded me that the role we're playing in Rwanda, on this plantation, maybe it has more to do with pointing them toward the recon ...
