1 Timothy 4:1-5
Open to 1 Timothy chapter four. The letter of 1 Timothy has six chapters; we covered three of them before Christmas, and we're going to dive into the second half of the book today.
Before we get started, though, I've got to show you a few pictures. This last summer-we always take a special collection during vacation Bible school-and this year the collection was to provide water fountains-drinking fountains-at the Cymbili coffee plantation in Rwanda. So the VBS kids brought in their pocket change, and they raided their parents' change dishes and ash trays and everything else… And the water fountains are now installed! And you can see that this project continues to be a collaboration between folks from the Chapel, and people who live on that plantation.
And by the way-I don't know if we ever gave the final numbers on this-couple of months ago we were filling backpacks with school supplies to send to kids who go to school on the plantation. And lots of you stepped up and filled those backpacks-I know entire small groups took on dozens of them…And were able to send almost exactly 1,385 backpacks, filled with school supplies-which is enough for the 1,385 students who go to school on the plantation, and that includes paying for the shipping. Isn't that awesome? So thank you for being a part of that. And please keep praying for the people of that plantation!

And therefore, we never take ourselves too seriously, but we take our God very seriously. And one of the shocking things that Paul said, in 1 Timothy 1:15, he said, ''I am the chief of s ...
