INTRODUCTION: The time has come for God to send judgment upon the city of Sodom. Before proceeding against Sodom, however, God took Abraham into his confidence and revealed to him what he was going to do as far as Sodom was concerned. The revelation of this truth is an interesting test of Abraham's growth in grace and his increase in the knowledge of God. How does a faithful, obedient child of God react to the truth that a holocaust of judgment will engulf this world and that those who die without Christ will be punished forever in the lake of fire. When Jonah was faced with the impending doom of Nineveh he was glad and determined to do nothing to stay its fall. Jesus, faced with the impending doom of Jerusalem, wept over that city.
