A. The Book of Jeremiah provides us with a graphic description paralleling the events we see taking place right before our very eyes.
B. Jeremiah chapter 50 and verse 1 gives us the prophecy against Babylon. "The word that the Lord spoke against Babylon and against the Land of the Chaldeans by Jeremiah the prophet."
C. It is common knowledge that Babylon is located in Iraq.
D. Nebuchadnezzar was the ancient King of Babylon. Saddam likens himself to this infamous king whom the Bible describes as living during the last days - during the final destruction of Babylon.
II. WILL THERE BE WAR? WHAT NATIONS WILL BE INVOLED IN THE WAR WITH IRAQ? - Verse 9
A. The "Assembly of great nations from the north country," perhaps referring to NATO, Canada and the United States. - Vs. 9
B. Verse 41 of the same chapter also mentions the nations.
C. An interesting note is the fact that Israel is not mentioned in the Jeremiah scenario as being involved in the Iraqi war, and they have not taken an active part against Iraq in the present crisis.
D. 'Their Arrows Shall Not Return In Vai ...
