INTRODUCTION: Loved ones will weep o'er my smiling face, Shadows and darkness will fill the place. Dear ones will pass through with sad embrace, five minutes after I die. Faces that sorrow I will not see, voices that murmur will not reach me. But where oh where will my spirit be five minutes after I die. Forever with my chosen throng, long is eternity, oh so long. Then woe is me if my soul be wrong, five minutes after I die. How do we know there is life after death? Science says man may live after death the philosopher says man hopes to live after death, the historian says man expects to live after death, the ethics professor says man should live after death, only the Bible says we know we will live after death.

I. THE CONDITION WE ALL EXPERIENCE - II Corinthians 5:1
A. Our body is the earthly house in which we live - II Cor. 5:1
1. Man is not a body who has a soul, he is a soul that lives in a body
2. You cannot destroy human personality, you can only change its residence
3. The body is only a temporary house
4. Barring the return of Christ the body will be "dissolved" which means totally destroyed
B. A Christian never has to get old - II Cor. 4:16
1. The outward man parishes
