Well, let's go to the Lord now, and let's just ask the Lord to bless this time together. And I want to lift you up; you lift me up as I pray. Father, we thank you today for the power of the Word of God. Lord, you've said that your word is sharper than any two-edged sword. Father, you said your Word is like a hammer that can break even the hardest rock into pieces. And Lord, we just come today trusting that this Bible is the inspired, the infallible Word of God. So we come today to open our minds to the Word, and we want you to open the Word to our minds for the illumination of the Holy Spirit and bless each person who has come. Every person has their own special needs at this time, and I pray, Lord, you will touch them according to your power and your grace, for it's in Christ's name that we ask it, amen.

Well, if you'll take your Bible as I take mine and turn to Revelation 1. We are in a study of Revelation, and we come now to Lesson 3 that we call "The World's Only Photograph of Jesus." Many of you growing up as I did saw photographs of Jesus. Normally these photographs in our Bibles or on the walls of our Sunday School rooms were photographs of a Jesus that looked almost effeminate - long, flowing hair; very smooth skin. He didn't look like a person of great authority; He didn't look like a person of great weight. He appears as a pale Galilean or nothing more than a Jewish peasant. Some say that He was a good teacher who had good intentions but had no real power. In The Revelation we have said that the revelation itself, the word, means the uncovering of Christ. And during the first century when Revelation was written, believers were being persecuted for their faith.
