We Were Made For A Mission (4 of 5)

John 17:18
In past days we have looked at four of five purposes for our being here. We are answering the question WHAT ON EARTH AM I HERE FOR? We are here to worship. We are here for fellowship. We are here for discipleship. And today, we are here for service.
We can only do this fifth purpose on earth. There are two things that will not be in heaven, one of them is sin and the other is evangelism.
-Last week we talked about being a minister in the church. Today, we are going to talk about being a minister in the world. We should have a ministry to believers and unbelievers. We have a custom mission, one that is customized for us. And we have a common mission, one we share with everyone else.
-Common Mission: ''AS the Father hath sent me, so send I you.'' Paul said, ''The most important thing is that I complete my mission to tell the people the good news of God's grace.
-Once you understand what your purpose is God wants you to pass it down to others. The word is Evangelism.
-Evangelism is misunderstood. Some people immediately think of a T.V. evangelist who preaches a prosperity gospel.
-Evangelism is the Greek word for ''Good news.'' God loves me and has a purpose for my life. He wants us to pass that on to others.
-We are to start at home. Then go to people who are nearby but different from us. Then, we are to go to everybody else. He is not sending us out as a defense attorney, prosecutor, judge, and salesman. God does not need defending. He sends us out as witnesses.
-A witness tells what he knows. I am not an expert on many things. However, I am an expert on my life. No one can be a better witness on your life than you. You need to tell other people what has happened in your life.
-Why is that? Because God is building his family from every nation of the world. One day we will gather in heaven. This is not mission impossible. It is mission inevitable.
