Isaiah 60:1-3
Isaiah 60:1 Arise, shine; For your light has come! And the glory of the Lord is risen upon you. 2 For behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, And deep darkness the people; But the Lord will arise over you, And His glory will be seen upon you. 3 The Gentiles shall come to your light, And kings to the brightness of your rising.
This concept of the glory of the Lord is RISEN UPON you means that the GLORY RISES in us and then shines upon us. We sing songs about the GLORY COMING DOWN, Praises Go Up and the Glory Comes Down, and Let Your Glory Fall, and these songs are good because they are based on Biblical accounts of God's glory coming down in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night, they are based on the appearing of God to His people in order to manifest and prove the very presence of God to them.
But we are the New Testament church, and now God lives in His people. Ezekiel prophesied it when God said I will make a new covenant with My people and I will put My Spirit in them and
Ezekiel 36:26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you; I will take the heart of stone out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh. 27 I will put My Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statutes, and you will keep My judgments and do them.
Isn't that what Jesus said about the Holy Spirit:
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. 18 I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you. 19 ''A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. 20 At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
