Follow The Battle Plan (7 of 18)
Series: 1 Peter - Surviving The Storm
Chris Brown
1 Peter 2:11-17
If you missed last week, a picture is worth a billion words:
1 Peter 2:4-10, Hebrews 4:14-16, Revelation 4-5
Two problems with Christianity:
1 Peter 2:11-12, Romans 7:15-8:17, John 15:18-25, Luke 6:22-23
If we aren't battling our sinful desires…they've won.
Christianity will always have a bad reputation.
One answer to both problems:
It all comes down to how we live.
Our actions will:
Silence our critics.
Point people to God.
Bring people into the family.
Taking it home:
Romans 13:1-7, 1 Timothy 2:1-2, Matthew 22:17-21
The Christian army doesn't kill its enemies, it wins them over.
It is ok to tear apart a policy, never a person!
TAKING IT HOME

MY STORY
What do you think your friends and family who aren't following Jesus would say about the reputation of the Christians they know?
What do you think has contributed most to their thinking?
Chris talked about the battle we're in against sinful desires. Have you ever had someone help you effectively deal with a sin issue in your life? If so, what did they do that was helpful?
Can you think of any ways a person could think they're helping someone deal with a sin issue but instead are not being helpful at all?
