Today I am continuing a New Series: The Making Of A Movement!. You see we are not a religious people following a religious system. Rather we are Followers of Jesus And Fulfilling His Mission.
You see Jesus did not come to establish another Religious system but Jesus came to establish a movement of People who understood that they were part of something that is bigger than just themselves. A Movement of people who understand that they are put on this planet to make a difference and help bring change.
If we really take the scriptures seriously then we are really not part of this World's system. We are people who have been captured by the Love of Jesus and now we are on mission to share this message.
Text: Acts 1:4, Acts 1:8
Background: The disciples have had their last contact with Jesus. He has resurrected from the dead and has been showing Himself. He now Gives them a simple command to go to Jerusalem.
I. The Father Has A Gift v. 4 -5
A. The Father Gives us many Gifts. Matthew 7:11
1. Salvation is a gift.
2. Freely given to us because of the Jesus.
Key Pt: Gifts are given because of Grace and are received by Faith.
B. The Father sends you a gift
1. The Father has a gift.
2. The Father is going to send it
Key Pt: When I send something it is originating with me and you are only
Responsible for receiving it.
C . Notice it is a gift.
1. A gift is simply received.
2. A gift is given not earned.
3. If something is earned or worked for it is not a gift but payment.

1. He is an Advocate, Comforter, Counselor.
2. He is a Paracletos: a Motivator, A Consultant, An Advocate in a court of Law.
