2 Corinthians 5:17-21
Today I am beginning a brand New Series called New: Discovering God's New Life For You! I believe that we need to understand what it means that we are called New Creations In Christ. What does that mean and how does it work out in our lives.
I. It Starts With Jesus v. 14-16
A. If any person is in Christ.
1. That is a position, not a feeling.
2. It is a place of being not a place of feeling.
What does it mean to be in Christ? V. 17
B. It means that we are not in Christ to start.
1. The Bible teaches that we have been separated from God.
2. Because of Sin we were dead God. Colossians 2:13
3. There is nothing that is in us that brought us to God.
Key Pt: We were hopelessly lost and alienated from God because of our choices and our wanting to do our own thing.
We could not save ourselves. We could not do anything to rescue ourselves.
We were held captive and not able to escape.
But God who is rich in Mercy Eph. 2:4-5
II. You Are A New Creation
A. Because of Jesus Your New
1. You are not refurbished or recycled.
2. You are literally a brand new creation.
Key Pt: You are now in the family of God. A Son or Daughter by birth not worth.
B. Now you are created in Christ Jesus
1. Now as a new person you have been given a new heart, mind and desires.
