As we begin 2014 we are looking at this year with Great Expectation. I believe that we can live and have Expectation for what God is going to do this year. We are starting a New Series Called Expectation.

What are you expecting God to do in your life? What is your expectation built on? Let it be built on the Eternal not the Temporal.

I. Problems Are Not Eternal But God Is 2 Corinthians 4:8-10

A. Problems will come and go

1. In this life you will have challenges and at times struggles.

2. Jesus said in this life you will have tribulation.

B. Problems are part of the curse

1. Because this world is under the curse problems arise.

2. Many problems come as a result of sinful man.

3. Many problems come as a result of bad decisions.

4. Many problems just come.

C. Remember that Problems are not eternal but God Is v. 18 NKJV

1. What is seen is temporal.

2. What is unseen is Eternal

II. Reliance on God Produces Overcoming 2 Corinthians 1:8-10

A. Paul was overwhelmed.

1. He was overcome and crushed beyond his ability to endure.

2. He was in over his head.



B. Paul was speaking about how he felt.

1. It was beyond his ability to endure.

2. This was not boot strap theology.

C. Rather Paul Relied on Jesus v. 9

1. Because of this he stopped relying on himself.
