Joshua 6:1-5, 10

Background: We find the Israel has come into their promised land. They have crossed over and now are in the process of possessing all that has been promised. Immediately they come up to an Impossible City, Jericho. The city was impossible to take. It had 50 foot walls and 50 feet thick with 2 walls surrounding the city. There was 15 feet between each wall so if you got over one you would be killed in the between.

Many times in life you find yourself seemingly in impossible situations. It may be finances, family, circumstances or habits.

You see my friends what you say matters. What words are you speaking over your life, family, spouse, kids. Why does it matter?

Proverbs 18:21 "Death and life are in the power of the tongue; and those who love it will eat of its fruit."

Fighting Words Are Important because:

I. Words Have Creative Power.
Hebrews 11:3 "By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the Word
Of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things
Which are visible."

A. God's Words Framed the Universe.

1. We see in the creation story God speaking.

2. We see God speaking and it was so.

B. God shows us the creative power of words

1. We see that when God wanted something He spoke it.

2. When God spoke that which was unseen became seen.

C. God is demonstrating to us the power of Words.

1. Psalms 33:6 "By the Word of the Lord the heavens were made and all
The host of them by the breadth of His mouth."

2. Everything we see was brought about by WORDS!

Key Pt: Words carry an unseen power that bring about seen results!

D. If God's Word can help frame a universe, His Words can help Fight the Good Fight
Of Faith.

1. When we fill our mouth with God's Word then we are creating
An atmosphere for miracles.
