If you have your Bible this morning, we're going to study from 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4 as we get the second in this series of lessons on ''The Seven startling Secrets of the Second Coming of Christ''.
I love to study the second coming and I know many of you do as well. We've talked about the Book of Revelation, the Book of Daniel and now a series of lessons from other books of the Bible that deal with the second coming of Christ.
Last week we talked about some signs of His coming that we see today. We mentioned several of the sociological signs, the signs of lawlessness, the signs of inequity, the political signs that we see happening about us, the war, the rumors of war.
In 1 Thessalonians Chapter 4 we learn of the secret of the rapture of the church. I want us just to go to the Lord in prayer as we begin.
Father, we pray especially today for Guy Marshall and for Jeannie and Joyce as they are in Houston, we pray Father for your healing hand to be upon that young man. Lord, we lift up the needs of every member in this class, we know that there are needs in families, there are needs in individual lives, and we thank you that you are the great need meter. Now meet needs today through this lesson to the word of God, In Jesus name we claim this. Amen.
Alright, now notice in Verse 13, ''BUT I WOULD NOT HAVE YOU TO BE IGNORANT, BRETHREN, CONCERNING THEM WHICH ARE ASLEEP, THAT YOU SORROW NOT, EVEN AS OTHERS WHICH HAVE NO HOPE.
FOR IF WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED AND ROSE AGAIN,(notice the word if there, that comes from a Greek preposition that can also be translated since and as you know the King James Version is a very good translation and yet there are sometimes when we need to clarify some of the words and so a better translation of Verse 14 is since) FOR SINCE WE BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED AND ROS ...
