Definition of Prayer

6 Seek the LORD while he may be found; call on him while he is near.

What is prayer? What does it look like?

Is prayer something we ONLY do when we close our eyes, and we fold our hands?

Is it something we ONLY do when we go to our quiet place?

I think in part, the problem we have with prayer is that we just don’t really understand it well enough and why one part of us wants to do this thing we call “pray,” and another part of us doesn’t.

All the same, as followers of Christ, we need to be praying…because if you or I are going to be growing in the Lord, if we’re going to be strong in Him when adversity hits, if we’re going to be able to make a difference in other people’s lives, then we need to understand and know how to appropriate what prayer has for us and why it is so important in our lives.

Let’s start then by exploring this question first…just what is prayer?
