Series: Prayer

20 But you, my friends, keep on building yourselves up on your most sacred faith. Pray in the power of the Holy Spirit,
The Good News Bible, or Today’s English Version, includes the expressed sense of the text, saying:
20 But you, dear friends, build yourselves up in your most holy faith and pray in the Holy Spirit.
Jude 20 (GNB)
The title of the message today is: “Prayer Infused with Power”
Let me start out by asking a couple of questions that I want us to try to come to grips with today…
First, how would you rate your prayer-life:
Are you satisfied with your prayer life today?
Also…do you feel that your prayer life is full of power,
OR do you feel it’s a bit anemic and in need of a transfusion or at least a shot of prayer vitamins?
Ok…then, next…Would you really like to see and know that your prayers really accomplish something great?
In other words, would you like to see people on your street come to saving faith in Jesus when you pray for them?
Would you like to know for certain that as you prayed for a missionary, that that missionary who was in danger had been protected because of your prayers.
Or Perhaps to be able to pray for a really sick friend or relative and to have them recover miraculously for God’s glory.
Again, let’s examine our own prayer life, and ask ourselves…
How would you rate your prayer-life…full of power; anemic; or somewhere in between.
PRAYER:
Let’s go to the Lord in prayer right now, and ask Him to help us look at our prayer lives and then show us HOW to let Him put some real power into them.
So…I want to share with you this morning that having powerful prayer-lives is part of that Abundant Living that Jesus said that He came to give us…so us having an anemic-prayer-life, is not what God intended.
If it were, He would not have given us the Holy Spirit.
