Deuteronomy 18:10-12
This morning let’s go to the Lord in prayer and I know you have many requests upon your heart this morning. You may have come with a heavy heart. The Bible says, “Cast all your cares upon Him for He careth for you.”
Whatever that burden of your heart, whatever that care might be this morning the Lord is available right now for you to just place that burden at His feet.
Dear Father, we want to come and cast our cares upon you today because we know that you care for us. We thank you for your love and we thank you for your grace and Father we thank you for the promises of your word that “Greater is He that is in us than he that is in the world.”
Lord as we study today our topic we pray that the Holy Spirit of God will give us discernment, give us wisdom, illumine our hearts and our minds and Father we will give you praise forever. In the name of Jesus, Amen.
I’d like for you to turn first to Deuteronomy, the Old Testament, Deuteronomy Chapter 18 and Verse 10. This is the second part of the lesson that I started last week and I want to finish today be going to the word of God and seeing what the word of God has to say about the New Age Movement.
Now as you turn to Deuteronomy 18 let me just introduce this lesson by reminding us of what we learned last week about the New Age Movement. The title New Age Movement is sort of an umbrella title that would have under it many expressions of New Age belief and religion and philosophy and theology and practice today.
It would include spiritism. It would include transcendental meditation. It would include the occult. Next Sunday, we’re going to talk specifically about the occult. Under the New Age Movement would be witchcraft, magic, many, many different things, astrology and the application of astrology to one’s life.
