If you have your Bible, please turn to Daniel chapter 5. Daniel chapter 5 is a great chapter. Daniel chapter 5 is written and it tells us about a specific day in history, October 11, 539 B.C. It tells us about the death of a once powerful nation.
Now, how many in this room like to watch during football season, "Monday Night Football," can I see your hand? You like "Monday Nig, Night Football." You know, long before they had the really cool song by Hank Williams, Jr., "Are You Ready for Some Football?" we used to have football when I was growing up in middle school and high school. And we had Monday night football, and it had three guys on there that everybody liked to hear. It had Frank Gifford and Howard Cosell and Dandy Don Meredith. Who remembers those days with Frank and Don and Howard? Those were fun days. And, you know, Dandy Don, he was quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys when they first started up. All throughout the 60s he was the quarterback. Second guy inducted into the Cowboys' Ring of Honor there at the stadium right behind Bob Lilly. And Don Meredith was the color commentator. And Don Meredith, he was famous for kind of having back-and-forth little jabs with Howard Cosell. But he was famous toward the end of the game when the game ever got out of hand. He would begin to sing the old Willy Nelson song, "Turn out The Lights, The Party's over." Quinn, I know you want me in the choir. I should be in the choir, but (laughter). I want you to know that was sung without any help from the sound guys. I didn't get any help. But he would sing that song. And any time Dandy Don started with that song, you knew game over, game over.
