Acts 1:1-5
In the first message - there were two elements that are necessary for a powerful life.
I. Definitely Chosen
1. Choice Initiated By Christ
2. Choice Indicated By Confession
II Decidedly Convinced
1. Conviction of the Reality of Jesus
2. Conviction of the Realm of the Crucifixion
3. Conviction of the Resurrection of Jesus
III. Distinctly Commanded
Are we people who are confident that God has given us a district command in regard to our life and ministry?
So many times people say, "I'm really not sure what I'm supposed to be doing. I'm really just not clear about that."
If your heart's desire is to live a God blessed - powerful life - say Amen! I don't know why anyone would not want that kind of life.
Acts is a pattern for living such a God blessed - powerful life. God hasn't designed your life to be a victim of the world's system -- but victors over this world. We are to view this world from the throne room position -- being seated in the heavenlies with Christ -- as opposed to looking at this world from the bottom side of a deep well.
If you want God to move in your life -- If you desire God's Spirit to fill you and use you -- then you must establish these basic elements in your life. These elements represent choices that you must decide to make for your life.
Look at verse 4
A lot of Christians don't like the idea that they operate under commands.
A non-believer lives under the Law and the curse of the Law. The curse of the Law is this. By the keeping keeping of the Law is no man justified because our sin nature has made it impossible to keep the Law and to be perfect before God.
But while the Law, for the believer, has ceased becoming a condition for salvation -- once you trust in Jesus - the keeping of the Law becomes a consequence of salvation because the Lord God writes the Law across your heart and ...
