I am so glad to be back. I love you guys so much, and Chris and I always in July when we take our break and go on mission trips and plan and pray and relax, we just miss you so much. And even though I know July was amazing, in part because of our amazing staff team, but also because of my dear friend, Dr. Charles Lowery, who always does an amazing job. I'm so thankful for him coming to preach for me.
But it's wonderful to see what God is doing around the world. We were eating breakfast at our little hotel outside of Ongata Rongai and the quarry slum where we have Woodlands Church Nairobi, and we just planted the church this last year. It's thriving. Your pastor is there, Pastor Morris Opati and Pastor Oscar, our associate pastor. They're doing amazing, and it was just great to be with them. But as we were eating breakfast, getting ready to go into the slum and then go minister to the twelve schools in the slums that we minister to and make a difference in those kids' lives, the television was on, and they have a channel called the Family Channel. It has people like Dr. Phil and things like that, and at 8 o'clock as we're eating breakfast, a Woodlands Church service came on right there, and it was amazing to see that Woodlands Church, we're going all over the world with the gospel, but what really encouraged me was not that. It was that even though we're going all over the world with a gospel presentation and the good news of Jesus Christ, we're going to places where we've already preached with boots on the ground showing people. It's great to share the love of Christ, but it's more important to show the love of Christ, and I thought: Isn't that awesome that we're showing the love of Christ through Woodlands Church in Nairobi ministering to the poor? And I do encourage you to go on one of our mission trips. It's amazing what God is doing, but I missed you guys. I love you so much. The church is not a building. It's you. It's people. And I am so grateful. Chris and I are so grateful for you.
We're starting this new series because on the first week of August every year millions of us are drawn to the Discovery Channel to try to satisfy our curiosity and fascination with the most terrifying predator in the ocean.
