Mark 13:1-8
I want you to take God's word and turn to the Gospel of Mark. We've been preaching through the Gospel of Mark and today turn to Chapter 13 and I want to begin in Verse 1.
I want to speak today and next Sunday morning on the subject, "Blueprint for the End Times". Jesus as you know centered His activities during that last week of His life around the temple and around the temple mound and here Jesus on the temple mound gives what Bible scholars call His Mount Olive Discourse.
It is a discourse, a lesson, on end time prophecy, on what's going to happen in the last days. Notice in Mark Chapter 13 beginning in Verse 1. "AND AS HE WENT OUT OF THE TEMPLE, ONE OF HIS DISCIPLES SAITH UNTO HIM, MASTER, SEE WHAT MANNER OF STONES AND WHAT BUILDINGS ARE HERE!
AND JESUS ANSWERING SAID UNTO HIM, SEEST THOU THESE GREAT BUILDINGS? THERE SHALL NOT BE LEFT ONE STONE UPON ANOTHER, THAT SHALL NOT BE THROWN DOWN. AND AS HE SAT UPON THE MOUNT OF OLIVES OVER AGAINST THE TEMPLE, PETER AND JAMES AND JOHN AND ANDREW ASKED HIM PRIVATELY,
TELL US, WHEN SHALL THESE THINGS BE? AND WHAT SHALL BE THE SIGN WHEN ALL THESE THINGS SHALL BE FULFILLED? "Just keep your Bible open for a moment and we're going to continue to read in just a little while.
Dwight David Eisenhower once said that he had a keen interest in the future. He said, "I'm greatly interested in the future because I'm going to spend the rest of my life there."
I think God has placed within the heart of man a keen interest in knowing what lies ahead and that's why the devil has moved in and he has exploited that interest that we have in the future and so the devil has come up with all of his kinds of counterfeit ways of telling what the future holds.
We have the psychics and we have the horoscopes that people turn to in their paper every morning to see what lies ahead during that day, we have the false ba ...
