The Law of Attraction
• All truth is God's Truth

The Flaw of Attraction

The Secret by Rhonda Byrne has become an international bestseller. Thousands of people, including Oprah Winfrey, have said the principles in The Secret have been the guiding force in their life. So what is the secret? Well, according to the author, the secret that's been passed down through the ages is something called the law of attraction. The law of attraction basically says that whatever happens to me in life, I've attracted it to myself through my thoughts and actions. Now the interesting thing is, about 80 to 90% of what's in The Secret is good, but about 10% is really off. Now I've talked to a lot of people who have said that The Secret has changed their life, and I believe them because all truth is God's truth. A lot of the principles from The Secret come straight from the Bible, and a lot of the principles from The Secret come straight from God even though the book doesn't give credit to God. If you put biblical principles into your life and you practice them, it will change your life whether you know they are biblical principles or not. If you put biblical principles into your life, put them into practice, it's going to work because biblical principles work whether you realize they are biblical principles or not. For example, The Secret says the law of attraction says that whatever you give out in life you basically attract back to yourself, and the Bible has always said this. In Luke 6:38 it says: Give, and it will be given to you. . . . For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you. You get what you give in life. If you give out criticism, you're going to get back criticism. If you give out gratitude, you're going to get back thanks. If you give of your time, talent and treasure, you're going to get back more time, talent and treasure. It's always said that in the Bible. It's a biblical principle. And The Secret, this law of attraction, also says you can change your life by changing your thoughts. Well, the Bible has always said that. In Proverbs 23:7 it says: For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he . . . . Thought patterns are powerful. Negative, critical thoughts are destructive. Positive, faith-filled thoughts are powerful. Medical research proves this.
