Four Steps To A Personal Plan

"May God himself, the God who makes everything holy and whole, make you holy and whole, put you together-spirit, soul, and body-and keep you fit for the coming of our Master, Jesus Christ." 1 Thess. 5:23 (The Msg)

1. MAKE CHRIST MY PERSONAL SPIRITUAL COACH

"Spend your time and energy in the exercise of keeping spiritually fit. Bodily exercise is all right, but spiritual exercise is much more important and is a tonic for all you do. So exercise yourself spiritually, and practice being a better Christian because that will help you not only now in this life, but in the next life too." 1 Timothy 4:7-8 (LB)

----

How many of you stayed up to see the ball drop in Times Square? Raise your hands. Did you see all those crazy people packed into that one place? Well, I've got a confession to make. Your pastor was one of those people. Our flight was out the next day from New York and it was warmer weather then usual and we had nothing better to do so we thought we would go to Times Square and watch the ball drop. Apparently about one million other people had the same idea. As soon as I walked onto Times Square you could feel the excitement in the air. I just felt like this was going to be an unbelievable experience in my life. I mean, why else would a million people gather together in one place and wait for hours? You just had the feeling this was going to be unbelievable. Then, it got even better. They gave me this cool pom pom for free and then they gave all of us this hat. I thought, this has got to be something really special because there are bankers and accountants and pastors wearing these cheesy hats. A million of us and we're waiving these pom poms and I'm thinking, man, I'm at the center of the universe right now. As it got closer to midnight, the anticipation just continued to build and build and you just felt like the eyes of the world were watching us. Then the ball began to drop and the countdown began. TEN, NINE, EIGHT, SEVEN, SIX, FIVE, FOUR, THREE, TWO, ONE and we all went nuts, we were high fiveing each other, hugging each other and then it was over and that was it. Folks, after the ball drops, that's it and I realized we waited for hours and the ball drops and there is nothing else to do after that other than fight about a million people wearing dorky hats or trying to get home and that's not a pretty site.
