God's Game Plan
"And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." Phil. 4:9 (NIV)
1. PRAY FOR IT BEFORE YOU PAY FOR IT
"Until now you have not asked for anything in My name. Ask and you will receive, so that your joy will be the fullest possible joy." John 16:24 (NCV)
2. PLAN HOW YOU SPEND AND NEVER BEND
----
You make me your chief financial officer. You make me your chief financial advisor and you follow my financial game plan, I'll meet all your needs. Look at it with me in Phil. 4:19, our key verse. Read it out loud with me. "And my God will meet all your needs according to His glorious riches in Christ Jesus." That's a great promise. Circle the word all because God cares about all the details of my life, even finances. This includes mortgage payments, college tuition, braces. If you are worried about it God cares about it because He doesn't want you to worry about it. I want you to circle the word needs in that verse because He says I'll meet all your needs. Not all your wants. There is a big difference between needs and wants. I don't give my kids everything they want because I love them. If I gave my kids everything they wanted they would be spoiled brats. God is not going to give you everything you want, but He will meet all your needs. That's His promise. His Word is on the line. His reputation is at stake. His character is on the line. He says I will always come through. I always do what I say. Circle the words in Christ Jesus. This promise isn't for everybody, folks. It's only for believers, for those who have made Christ their life coach. That's why we are in this series I'm calling The Life Coach. It's all about how to make the ultimate life coach, Jesus Christ, your personal Life Coach. Today we are talking about finances because Christ has a lot to say about how to get financially fit. He says in Philippians 4:19 if you follow my financial game plan and you make me your chief financial advisor, and then I'll meet all your needs. You'll never have to worry about your finances. I know some of you are probably thinking, wait a minute, Kerry, I'm a believer and yet I'm experiencing tremendous financial pressure in my life right now. I'm really struggling financially, so what's the deal? Is God a liar when He says He's going to meet all my needs? No, God is not a liar, but there is a premise with this promise. There is a condition with this promise. In fact, there are five conditions that God says we need to meet so that He'll meet all our needs. There are God's big five that if you follow these there may be times in your life where you go through financial difficulties.
