"Music playing"
Where is Pastor Kerry? Where could he be? He's not on stage. Could he be in the balcony? You know I'm starting the message today from a different place in an unusual way because I'm starting a new series today where we are going to look at some of the most obscure and strange passages in the Bible. Hey and let's face it there are some strange stories in the Bible. We usually skip right over them to get to what we consider the good parts but God has placed every passage and every verse in his word for a reason. Its all divinely inspired and I find some of the strongest, most life changing principles are in some of the strangest passages. I am calling the series Talking Donkeys because that's the story we are starting with today. It's the story of Balaam who was riding his donkey down the wrong path and God works this unusual miracle where he opens the donkey's mouth and the donkey talks. God opens the donkey's mouth in order to open Balaam's eyes; to see a life changing principle. It's what I call the pathway principle. Let me take you outside and show you what I mean by the pathway principle. Just watch.
"Video playing" Have you ever been walking down the path of life and then you wonder how did I end up here? You start looking around and you start wondering how in the world did I get to this place? How did I end up here in my marriage which is barely hanging on? How did I end up here in my finances completely buried in debt? How did I end up here in a job that fills me with no passion and purpose? I mean how did I end up here? But then we have to look back and we see that we were always on the path that led to this destination. This is the pathway principle and its in effect all the time in our lives. You are on a path right now in every area of your life whether you realize it or not and then we come to a major problem. We make a big mess of one area of our life and we want solutions. We start looking for the quick fix. We want answers but what you need is not solutions. What you need is a new direction, a new path.
