SUN STAND STILL FAITH IS:
1. THE AUDACITY TO BELIEVE GOD FOR THINGS I'VE NEVER SEEN
"Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see." Hebrews 11:1 (NIV)
"It was by faith that Noah built a large boat to save his family from the flood. He obeyed God, who warned him about things that had never happened before...." Hebrews 11:7 (NLT)
2. THE AUDACITY TO OBEY GOD, BEFORE I UNDERSTAND EVERYTHING
"It was faith that made Abraham obey when God called him to go out to a country which God had promised to give him. He left his own country without knowing where he was going." Hebrews. 11:8 (GN)

What happens when you dare to ask God for the impossible in your life? Well, we're going to find out, because over the next four weeks we're starting this new series that I'm calling Sun Stand Still, and it's based on a new best-selling book by my friend, Pastor Steven Furtick, and I just happened to get a copy before it came out in September, and it really grabbed me. It reminded me of how God has worked in my life, my family and our church over the last 17 years, and it rekindled the passion in my heart to believe God for the impossible in my life and in our church. Now in this series we are going to learn that regardless of the circumstances in your life, God wants to do something in your life that can only be explained by ... God must have done it! Regardless of the problems and adversity you face right now, God wants to do something in your life that's beyond anything that you could ever imagine, and we are going to culminate the series on November 6th and 7th, and Pastor Steven Furtick, the author, is going to be with me that day to join me as we conclude the Sun Stand Still series. The book and the series is really based on an obscure but audacious prayer by Joshua in Joshua Chapter 10. And you know that Joshua became the leader of the people of Israel after Moses died and had these huge shoes to fill, but God promised him that He would lead the people into that good and exceedingly spacious land, but there was one problem. There were still giants in the land, and it's those giants in our lives that often block the view to our destiny. Those giants that we see right in front of us that keep us from seeing what God has for us and keep us from believing God for big things in our lives. Well, Joshua knew that God had called them to take the people into the promise land, and God said, the land is yours, but Joshua you have to be strong and courageous and step out in faith, and each step you take I'll open up the door.
