----
It was the night of August 2, 1984 and everything seemed perfect. Within 24 hours I would be marrying the most wonderful and beautiful woman on the face of the earth, Christine Nelson. We had just finished our rehearsal and rehearsal dinner, and I had gone with some of my groomsmen over to a friend's house, and one of the guys said to me, Kerry before you leave, don't forget to give the ring to the best man, so I reached into my pocket, and to my shock and disbelief, the ring was gone. I mean this was the ring that I had custom designed with my uncle, who was a jeweler. This was the ring that I had bragged over and over and over again to Chris about how beautiful it was because it symbolized a great marriage. There were three diamonds in it that symbolized what it takes to build a great marriage, a husband, a wife and God, and I said Chris I don't want you to see the ring until I place it on your hand and you take my hand in marriage at our wedding ceremony. I was really romantic back then, 26 years ago. And so I was panic-stricken when I couldn't find the ring, and then it hit me, it must have fallen out of my pocket when I reached in to get my keys and unlock by door to leave the church parking lot, so I grabbed one of my groomsmen and we went back to the church parking lot, and my heart just sank when I saw that it was pitch black and you couldn't see a thing in this huge, empty parking lot. Everyone was gone. The lights were out, and then the panic really set in, because my mind raced forward 24 hours, and I could see the pastor in front of Chris and I getting to the part where he said and now we want to use the rings as a symbol of your great love, of gold they are made which symbolizes the true worth of your relationship as I placed a Fruit Loop on her finger. I really did think ahead ... what am I going to do? What am I going to do? And then I came back to my senses and I prayed, God help me. And then I said, okay here's what we are going to do. I told my friend to sit on the hood of my car, and I turned my headlights on, and I said I'm going to drive around and we're going to see the reflection off those diamonds. And so that's what we did. We started driving around, and sure enough this huge sparkle came off. It reflected from the diamonds, and we found the ring.
