"Jesus said to them, 'A prophet is not without honor except in his own town, among his relatives and in his own home.' He could not do any miracles there, except lay His hands on a few sick people and heal them." Mark 6:4,5 (NIV)
• Dishonor limits the blessings of God
The Hebrew word for honor is kabod, and its root means weighty or heavy.

I have up here a bowl of oranges. They look really good, don't they? And it symbolizes the fruitfulness that God wants in our lives because God wants you to live a life that's effective. God wants you to live a life that's fruitful and productive. And I want you to open your Bibles to the Book of I Samuel 2 because, it's a short verse here, but it really explains how we can get into God's produce system, because God is the one that bears the fruit. He's the one that produces the fruit; we're the ones who are to bear the fruit. He's the one that gives us our energy and effectiveness, and He's the one that makes us productive. But, we have a job to do as well. We're to get into God's system of production. So, would you stand in honor of God's word and just read this verse out loud with me? This is God speaking.

Dear God, I thank you that you bless our lives, and as we move into Thanksgiving this week, we just want to thank you because everything that we have comes from you, and Lord, we thank you that you allow us to get into this system of yours where you bless our lives. I pray that you would just show us how to do that and we would bring honor back, Lord, into our culture and bring honor to you. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

God says I will honor those who honor me. So this honor system that God has set up as a universal principal, honor sets in motion the full blessings of God. Put that in your notes. This is so important. I'm so excited about this message because I know that so many of you are going to see for the first time the power of honor. Honor sets in motion the full blessing of God. Honor is the key that unlocks the door to God's blessings in our lives.
