We live in a sex-saturated society. It's all around us. You can't avoid it. It's all over television, the movies, billboards and, of course, the internet, and sex is used to sell everything from cologne to toothpaste, and now the ad campaigns are sort of in your face. I am holding up here some men's cologne that is titled "Very Sexy" from Victoria's Secret, and it smells really good. The reason why I know, is because my 70-year-old mother gave this to me for Christmas. (Laughter). Yeah! And I said "Mom, that's awesome." I said, "I appreciate it so much. It's a great gift. Did you think I needed some more sexy? You know, because I thought I brought sexy back. I didn't know." And I said, "What I love the most, though, is just imagining you walking into Victoria's Secret and asking for this. That's what I love." And she said, "Well, I just wanted to get you something that you couldn't get for yourself." And I said, "Well that's true." It's a good point, because it's been years. I think the last time I went to Victoria's Secret was Valentine's Day several years ago, and three or four people recognized me and said, "Hey Pastor Kerry. What are you doing?" And then you've got to think of something real quick, "Well, I'm just needing some directions to the Christian bookstore, because I want to buy Chris a Valentine's devotional. That's what I want to get her." (Laughter).

You know the Bible has a lot to say about sex, and we are in a series on wisdom, looking at the book of wisdom, Proverbs, and Proverbs, as well as the whole Bible, has a lot to say about sex. It says sex is a good thing, because it's a God thing. God created it. It was his design. He thought it up in the first place. It's a beautiful, wonderful, good gift of God that is not just for procreation, but also for our enjoyment. But it's not just a good gift, it's a sacred gift. That is, it has deep spiritual and emotional ramifications.
