Mother's Day is really special, so I thought I would bring in the big guns. My wife, Chris, is going to be doing the message; something that I think she is an expert on, "Wild Beauty", because it was on 08/03/1984 that I married the most beautiful and godly woman I had ever met, and this summer we will celebrate our 25th anniversary. Now you need to cheer for that; that's a big deal ... that she stuck with me for 25 years, and the crazy thing is, she still looks exactly the same after 25 years and 4 kids. I look a little bit different that I did 25 years ago. In fact, I was signing a book for a gentleman the other day, our book, and he looked at the back and saw our picture that is on the back, and he, in all seriousness said, "Oh, is that your daughter? She's really pretty." That really hurt me, desperately, but it is so true. So, I want you to give a warm welcome to the most beautiful woman in the world and the greatest mom, my wife, Chris.
Well good morning and Happy Mother's Day Moms! Kerry has been in a series called, "Where The Wild Things Are", and that is a perfect title for Mother's Day, isn't it? Because a lot you are saying, "Hey, here's my address. If you wanted to know where the wild things are....they live at my house". I know I have felt that way a lot of times raising our four kids, and my favorite line in that book, "Where The Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak (it is one that Kerry and I used to read to our kids when they were little) is when Max, the little boy in the book says, "Let the wild rumpus begin", and I know there have been a lot times where I feel like that is what is going on in my home. It's a wild rumpus and I am supposed to be trying to control it, and as Moms a lot of times we feel like we have been in a wild rumpus all day and it looks like we have been in a wild rumpus by the end of the day, and that is where this whole concept of real beauty comes in, because Moms are beautiful, and so we want to share with you today, and I want to say also, if you are a guy or you have a daughter, if you are married to a woman, if your mother, guys, is a woman, and I think that's probably true in a lot of cases, then you need to listen in, too, because you need to understand the concept of real beauty and how it affects the women in your life.
