As we kick off our Second and Ten Vision what we believe God wants us to do for the next decade here at Fellowship of The Woodlands by giving our Power of Everyone offerings and commitments. Let me say if you are a first time guest don't feel obligated to participate in the offering, just have a great time today. Just know this is a special day here at Fellowship of The Woodlands.
I like to go into the store at the mall that called Successories. Have you ever been there? They have these big pictures that motivate you to succeed in life. Those pictures that inspire. They always have a quote or a little saying that inspires you to do better in life. There is a new company out now that puts out demotivators. You can actually go on despair.com and come up with these demotivators. In fact, I went on line this week to despair.com and found some great Christmas gifts for people I am trying to encourage and on their website it says this - No matter who you are you have the potential to be so very much less. With the transforming power of our demotivator products you will be. Here are a few of the products. This one I like a lot. Failure - when your best just isn't good enough. Isn't that encouraging? How about this one? Doubt - in the battle between you and the world, bet on the world. You wake up in the morning and have that hanging in your room you can take on the world. Here is a good one. Humiliation - the harder you try, the dumber you look. That's true. This one speaks to me. Dysfunction - the only consistent feature of all your dissatisfying relationships is you. It's the opposite of denial - dysfunction. This is for all you bosses out there who are really trying to improve the output of all of your employees. Get to work - you aren't being paid to believe in the power of your dreams. Idiocy - never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. This is my favorite. Mistakes - it could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others. Now some of you have discovered your purpose in life right here at church. Adversity - that which does not kill me, but postpones the inevitable. Pessimism - every dark cloud has a silver lining, but lighting kills hundreds of people each year who are trying to find it. This may be the best one of all. Defeat - for every winner there are dozens of losers. Odds are you are one of them.
