... this last week is that it broke box office records. It grossed $125.2 million. That is something to cheer about because it surpassed the academy award winning "Lord of the Ring, Return of the King" as the number one grossing movie of all time in its first five days. I am really grateful to Mel Gibson to risk his own resources, to put all his talent, all his creativity, all his enthusiasm, all his excellence and all his passion into making a movie about the crucifixion and resurrection based on the gospels. Now, we have heard a lot about the gospels over the last few weeks. Everybody is talking about the gospels and what are the gospels. Well, the word gospel simply means "good news." So, finally, a movie with a message that matters comes out of Hollywood. A movie with the good news. Now, usually Hollywood puts a lot of resources and money and talent and creativity and effort and excellence into getting their message out. Frankly, folks, they have nothing to say. I like to go to the movies. I really do, but most movies have nothing to say. There is no message or it's a negative message. While the church, on the other hand, we have the greatest message of all. We have the gospel - the Good News. But, sad to say in many churches they spend very little money, very little effort, very little creativity and talent and excellence and hard work in getting the message out. That's sad because we've got the greatest message of all. We've got the gospel. We've got the Good News. That's why I'm really thankful for our creative team here at Fellowship of The Woodlands because they do whatever it takes to put in the time and the effort and the creativity and the enthusiasm and the talent and the hard work, week after week after week to get out the greatest message of all - God's Word. I was flipping through the channels the other night and I saw the behind the scenes making of "The Passion of The Christ." It was a special that was on and how Mel Gibson made the movie behind the scenes look at it, up close and personal. Some times you see these shows where they take you behind the scenes to the making of the movie. I really like those behind the scenes look at how they make these movies. Since we are talking about enthusiasm and creativity today, we thought we would take you behind the scenes here at Fellowship of The Woodlands to show you the process our creative team goes through to put a service together.
