A few years ago my wife and I were invited by a church in Paris to come to France and teach a marriage and romance seminar. After I got there I remember telling a few couples - what can I teach you about romance? You're French. It was great. We had a great time. One of the things that I love about France is the food. Ahhh, the food. Just walking down the streets of Paris everywhere you look there are these little cafes and bakeries where you can get fresh baguettes croissants and those melt in your mouth French pastries. Just thinking about it makes me hungry this morning. Nothing against our crispy crèmes, they are great, very fattening, wonderful, but there is something about French desserts. By the way, there is a little place right here in The Woodlands that makes authentic French pastries, made by a French chef. It's really not too far from here. I've been craving a gourmet dessert all week...I don't know...would you guys mind if I just ran out and got us some French pastries. I'll be right back. I promise I won't take long. I'll just get out there and I'll hurry back. Guys, can you sing a couple more songs or something? Sir, you are in charge, okay? I'll hurry, I promise.

I'm back. That was great. Good job, guys. Thank you. Who did I put in charge? I can't even remember. Oh, it was you? Good job. You did fantastic. These things are unbelievable. Man, they are great. Ummm. Apple is my favorite. These are really good guys. Ummm. Excuse me for a few minutes. I'm just going to sit it over here. That's great. What are you looking at? Okay, so I couldn't get enough for everybody. I do want to give you some Food For Thought. Just because I couldn't get everyone here a French pastry I will give you some spiritual nourishment today. How about that? So, if everyone will take out of their program your menu. Notice that it is a menu today. You'll see that there is a healthy diet of God's promises and if you'll hang on to the end of the service today, some of you are going to get some gourmet food. So just hang in there. So, if we take out our menu today you'll see that our first verse is Psalm 63:5. It says, "My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods...". God's promises are food for the soul. They are soul food. So, today as we conclude this series that we have been in the last several weeks that I have been calling Defining Moments, we are going to look at God's promises to meet our needs because many people have financial worries and struggles today.
