Have you ever been to a movie that all the movie critics said was great? A must see. Best movie of the year. It may have even won the academy award, but about 15 minutes into the movie you are sound asleep and you're thinking, I don't care what the critics say, this movie stinks. Or, have you ever been to a movie that the critics panned? They said it wasn't worth your money, but you loved it? I've come to the conclusion that when it comes to movies the only review that really matters is mine. When it comes to how to live life the only review that really matters is God's. When it comes to how to live life the only opinion that really counts is God's opinion. That's why I'm starting a new mini-series today that I'm called "2 thumbs up" - God's Review of Your Life. At the end of my life story the only review that will really matter is the review that comes from an audience of One - God. I thought we would start this mini-series today by talking about the Cinderella Man. By the way it is Father's Day today so I want to give you some statistics that might surprise you about Father's Day. Did you realize that there are more greeting cards purchased the week of Father's Day then any other week of the year? Did you know that there are more long distance telephone calls made on Father's Day then on any other day of the year? Isn't that surprising? It's surprising, but it's not true. Sorry guys, I couldn't find any positive stats on Father's Day so I thought I'd throw those Mother's Day stats out. At least for a few seconds we felt like we rated higher than moms. Guys, we may not be as loved as moms, but at least we're not nearly as complicated as moms. We're pretty simple, right? In fact, I came across this his and her guide to the ATM machine drive through at the bank. It's his process that he goes through at the drive through at the bank and her process. They are very different. His process consists of:
1. Pull up to the ATM machine
2. Insert card
3. Enter PIN number
4. Take cash, card and receipt
It's just a simple four-step process. Now, a woman can take that simple process and really complicate it. Here's her guide to going through the ATM drive through at the bank.
1. Pull up to the ATM machine
2. Check make-up in rear view mirror
3. Get out of car because you're too far from the machine
4. Hunt for card in purse
5. Insert card
6. Hunt for scrap of paper with PIN number on it
7. Enter PIN number
8. Make cash withdrawal
