We're in a new series that I'm calling Motocross, Living Life Full Throttle, and we've been having a lot of fun with motorcycles up here on the stage, but more importantly, we're learning how the power of the cross can give us power in our daily lives.
Now, today, we're talking about the power to love because love is the fuel that builds winning teams and winning relationships. Now, it's not easy to build a great team today. You know, a lot of teams are falling apart; a lot of talented teams are falling apart because they just can't get along. Whether it's a sports team, a friendship, a business partnership, or a marriage, a lot of teams are falling apart because it's so hard to get along with others. So to demonstrate the power and the necessity of working together, we have two professional Motocross racers with us today. So I want you to give a welcome to Steve Dennis and Blake Sacala, and they're going to try to attempt to jump me. Pray for me.
Not bad. Not bad. They assured me they can do this nine times out of ten. Yeah! Now that is real power. You know, in Motocross you need a motorcycle with a lot of power to be able to get over the hills and the jumps and all the turns and the obstacles in order to win the race, and in life to motor over the obstacles that keep us from building winning relationships, we need the power of love. I want you to look at our theme verse for the whole series, it's 1 Corinthians 1:18. It says, "For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved, it is the Power of God." Christ showed us the most powerful demonstration of love when He went to the cross, and in the cross we find the power to love the people in our lives, and we need God's power to love because there are three obstacles that every relationship needs to motor over in order to really make it and be a great relationship. Whether it's a business partnership, a friendship, or a marriage, there are three mountains we've got to motor over in order to love the people in our lives.
Now, the first is The Mountain of Misunderstanding. Most relationships don't have the power to climb over the mountain of misunderstanding. Because in relationships, those misunderstandings can pile up quickly as high as Pike's Peek. When you first start off in a relationship, at the very beginning it's all positive.
