3 Causes of War in our Hearts and Minds
• We battle with circumstances that are uncontrollable
• We battle with people who are unchangeable
• We battle with problems that are unexplainable
• Isaiah 9:6 (NLT)
• Luke 2:14 (NIV)
• John 14:27 (LB)
God's Personal Peace Plan For Me
1. I Accept the King's Plan
• Matt. 6:10 (GN)
The Serenity Prayer
God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can, and the wisdom to know the difference. Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace, taking as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that you will make all things right if I surrender to your will so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with you forever in the next. Amen.

2. I Surrender to the King's Control
----
Please take out your outlines from your program. I'm in a series I'm calling Christmas Blockbusters as we are taking two of the blockbuster movies this holiday season and we're using them to look at some deeper blockbuster truths of why Jesus came on the first Christmas. The Lord of the Rings: Return of the King opens in theaters this Wednesday across America. Return of the King is the last of J.R. Tolkien's trilogy about the epic battle of good vs. evil. And speaking of the real battle today of good vs. evil, we have a lot to be thankful for with our armed forces capturing Saddam Hussein. I thought we would just start today by just thanking the Lord for our armed forces, for the men and women who are serving so far away. Let's just pray for them right now. Lord, we tend to forget so many times about those who are serving and sacrificing so we can be here to worship today and experience the freedom of worship. We just want to stop right now and thank you this Christmas season for the men and women who are serving in our armed forces all over the world and we just pray right now wherever they are that you would let them know that you are right there with them. That you would give them comfort and strength and in the middle of all the turmoil just give them peace in their hearts. We pray these things in Your name Jesus. Amen.
In Return of the King, the legions of darkness were gathering for the final battle for middle earth and the once great kingdom of men is in desperate need of its king. But, there is another battle that is raging in our own lives and it's not a mystical battle for middle earth, it's a real battle for our peace of mind. The truth is very few people in this world are at peace with themselves.
