Well, we're concluding the series we've been in the last several weeks about how to experience lasting change in our lives, and this weekend we're talking about how to leave a lasting change on this earth because you were created to do something with your one-and- only life that will outlive you and create an eternal footprint. You were made for eternity. C. S. Lewis put it this way, and I love this quote. It's in your notes. "You don't have a soul, you are a soul. You have a body." See, you're an eternal soul and you were created to live forever and to do something when your life that will last forever. That's why when you spend all your time on temporary things, you feel an emptiness, an ache in your soul that there's got to be more to life than this.
So, I want you to open your Bibles to Isaiah Chapter 52 because here we find out how we can leave an eternal footprint on this earth that changes us and everyone around us. So, would you stand in honor of God's word? And if you're worshiping with us online or at one of our satellite campuses or here at the Fellowship Campus, this church is based on God's Word so just read this out loud with me.
"How beautiful on the mountain are the feet of those who bring good news, who proclaim peace, who bring good tidings, who proclaim salvation, who say to Zion, 'your God reigns!'"
Lord God, we thank You that You reign today, that maybe things look out of control and things in the world look like they're spinning out of control, but Lord You're still in control and You have a plan for all of history, and we just ask You right now to help us understand the purpose that You've created us for so we can light our life with your purpose and come alive, and I just pray for everyone who's worshiping with us right now whether it's at our satellite campuses or through our broadcast ministry or online church or here at the Fellowship Campus, that you would just really speak to everyone's heart in that still small voice, and just let them know that You created them for a purpose, a unique purpose that only they can fulfill as they join Your purpose for all history.
