In our summer series, we're taking you to some incredible destinations to learn some deep spiritual truths. And today we're going to the Big Apple...New York City...to one of the most famous buildings in the world...the Empire State Building. Hundreds of movies have been filmed on location at the Empire State Building. Some of them are classics, so just watch these clips.

The common thread that runs through almost all the movies made about the Empire State Building is love. From the 1957 classic "An Affair to Remember" with Cary Grant and Debra Kerr, to "Sleepless in Seattle", there's something powerfully romantic about the 102 story building at 5th Avenue and 34th Street. Thousands of men, thousands of hopeful men, have proposed to surprised girlfriends on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. And in the movie "Sleepless in Seattle" in that closing scene the character played by Tom Hanks and the character played by Meg Ryan...they finally meet each other on the observation deck of the Empire State Building. What a great place to meet the love of your life.
Now I met the love of my life what seems like just yesterday, but it's been a few years ago now. In fact, how many of you can guess when Chris and I were married? What year was it? Just watch this video. Chris will tell her side of the story.

It was 1984, and that was the year that Chris and I were married. And, many great things happened that year, but the greatest thing that happened that year in my mind was when I married my beautiful wife. And now we've been married for fifteen years, and it's been wonderful. Seventeen years...seventeen wonderful years of marriage and it just gets better all the time. A lot of changes have taken place in the last sixteen years...seventeen years...but I haven't changed a whole lot. Now Chris has changed quite a bit from 1984 and our wedding day, but I haven't changed too much. Just look at this picture.
A lot has changed since 1984. But one thing that hasn't changed is our love for each other. Kerry and I are more in love than ever. I'll never forget when I was fourteen years old and I saw Kerry at school, and I just knew he was the one for me. I rushed home, and I sat down in my kitchen and I told my mom I know who I want to marry. His name is Kerry Shook. I always had to sigh before I said that.
