The Woodlands is celebrating their 30th Anniversary this year and I know there have been a lot of changes around this place over the last 30 years. A lot has changed in many of our lives over the last 30 years. I came across this that emphasizes the changes that can take place in someone's life in 30 years. In 1974 it was long hair. In 2004 for some of us it's longing for hair. I take that one personally. In 1974 it was acid rock. In 2004, it's acid reflux. In 1974 it was going to a new hip joint. In 2004, it's receiving a new hip joint. In 1974 it was disco. It's 2004 it's Costco. In 2074 it was the Rolling Stones, but in 2004 it's kidney stones. A lot has changed in most of our lives over the last 30 years. That's because things change. Trends change. Styles change, but the secrets to fulfillment and happiness in life never change. That's why I'm starting a new series today that I'm calling CSI:Houston. We are going to do an internal investigation into the secrets of happiness and fulfillment. This is the series that I have been waiting for and looking forward to all fall and it's finally here. Today we start a revolution. Over the next few weeks it's going to impact our community and the city of Houston. The message is revolutionary. It's also counter-culture because our society says the secret to happiness and fulfillment in life is success. The more successful you are, the happier you will be. The more you achieve, the more you acquire then the happier you will be in life. Folks, that's just not true. There's nothing wrong with success, but success by itself leaves you empty. There's nothing wrong with success, but success can never bring you happiness and fulfillment in life. The Bible says what you need is not success. What you need is significance. To know that your life matters, that you are here for a reason. CSI could really stand for significance investigation. A critical significance investigation because in this series we are going to look at three clues that lead to significance and fulfillment in life. I'm really excited about the series because these secrets are God's answer to the problem of loneliness, fatigue, frustration, despair, depression in our lives. If you'd join me on this six week search for significance, God is going to do some amazing things in our lives. It's going to start a wave that will impact Houston.
