… as we are doing an internal investigation into the clues that lead to significance and fulfillment in life. We've said that CSI stands for Connect, Serve and Impact. We've looked at the power of connection. Last week we looked at the power of serving and for the next three weeks we are going to learn how to impact and make a difference in the lives of others. Significance and fulfillment comes from being involved in something that goes beyond yourself. That's what we're doing in this series. In fact, we really started a wave of serving that's making an impact in our community and in the city of Houston. It's pretty awesome to see. Last weekend was what we called Undie Sunday. We had heard from the homeless shelters that one of the biggest needs that they had was clean underwear and socks. Guess how many pair of underwear you gave? New underwear, by the way, we didn't count the old. You gave 13,000 pair of underwear and 10,000 pair of socks. Give yourself a hand. This weekend is the Feed the Hungry Food Drive as we're stocking the Houston Food Bank. The Houston Food Bank feeds 230,000 people a month. Today you've given so much food. It's all over the place. The atrium is just stocked full. We're going to fill truck loads full of food and if you forgot your food today, bring it next week. We'll keep taking it, but we're making a difference. We knocked out the underwear and sock problem in the homeless shelters in Houston, at least for a little while. We're stocking the Houston Food Bank. We're making a difference. Significance comes from investing your life in something that's going to outlast it. That's what we're doing in this series. Over the next three weeks, we're going to look at the three qualities that make a lasting impact in the lives of others. Look at our first verse. 1 Cor. 13:13. "In this life we have three lasting qualities - faith, hope and love. But the greatest of them is love." Circle the words, faith, hope and love. Those are the three qualities we are going to be talking about over the next few weeks. Those are the three qualities that make a lasting impact in the lives of others. We're going to start today by talking about the one that makes the greatest impact - love. We're going to look at how to be a great lover. Now, I know there are a lot of pop singers out there who sing these cheesy love songs and act like they're experts on love.
