There is a store at the mall called Successories. It's a store where they have the beautiful pictures, motivational sayings that are supposed to inspire you to success, to lift you up and to give you hope. Well, some of you know that I like to collect demotivators. In fact, there is a website called demotivators.com - the website for Despair Incorporated. It's true. They have a takeoff of all the successories. I'm sure it really lifts you up, makes you feel great. In fact, here are some new ones that I want to read to you. Here's one. Stupidity - quitters never win and winners never quit, but those who never win and never quit are idiots. That's encouraging, isn't it? Doesn't that fill you with hope? Here's one. Agony - not all pain is gain. That's true. Give that to someone for Christmas. Here's a classic. Defeat - for every winner there are dozens of losers. Chances are you are one of them. Give that to someone you really like. Doubt - in the battle between you and the world, bet on the world. Idiocy - never underestimate the power of stupid people in large groups. That's true. No doubt. Here's one for the office. Disloyalty - there comes a time when every team must learn to make individual sacrifices. That'll encourage everyone at your office. I love this one. Dysfunction - the only consistent feature of all your dissatisfying relationships is you. I'm dysfunctional, you're dysfunctional. That's for sure. Here's my favorite. Mistakes - it could be that the purpose of your life is only to serve as a warning to others. Maybe that's the whole reason God has you here on this earth. Doesn't that just fill your life with hope and encouragement on this Thanksgiving week? One of the fundamental questions of life is the question is there hope? Thousands of different people ask it in thousands of different ways each and every day and maybe you're asking that question today. Is there hope? Maybe it's because you feel like you're in a hopeless job situation or maybe you feel like there's a hopeless situation with your health right now. Maybe you feel like you're in a hopeless marriage. Maybe there's a problem in your family that's become so big that it seems almost hopeless. You can live 40 days without food, three days without water, eight minutes without air, but you can't live a single second without hope. The good news is because of God there is hope because God is hope.
