Last month on my day off I got an email from my secretary saying that a representative of pop singer Miley Cyrus who plays Hannah Montana on the Disney Channel had called and said that the Cyrus family watches Fellowship of the Woodlands on Sundays in Los Angeles on television and it's really meant a lot to them. Miley had a gig in Houston the next weekend and Miley's mom was wondering of they could all come to our church and worship and then hang out with Chris and I afterwards. Well I called back right away and I said tell them we would love for them to come. It's not that I know any of Miley Cyrus' music, it's that this is the first chance ever that my 16-year-old daughter Megan might think her dad is cool. Well sure enough they came to church the next weekend and we just had a great time. I was so impressed because they got in about 2 in the morning at their hotel in downtown Houston and they got up and they drove out here and came to the 9:30 service and had a great time and worshipped with us. Miley, her mom and her sisters and several of their friends and then we hung out afterwards and had a wonderful time. The most important thing is this. Megan got her picture made with her new BFF. Here it is right here so there you go. Yea. Now, that for Megan is her perfect picture and well maybe if you would substitute Zac Efron from Disney's High School Musical it might have been even more perfect I don't know. Every one of us has a perfect picture. Maybe some of you middle aged ladies your perfect picture is a picture of you and Brad Pitt but you have to settle for the pits that you are married to and that's just the card you've been dealt. For some of you guys it might be a picture on the 18th green at Pebble Beach with Tiger Woods after a round of golf. We all have a perfect picture in our mind. Did you know God has a perfect picture in his mind and you're in it. Really there are two perfect pictures in God's mind. He pictures you in this deep and abiding relationship with him and then he pictures you in authentic and real community with others. We are in a series that I am calling Clean Slate as we are learning the Etch-A-Sketch principle.
